Return to the rhythm your body remembers.

Private, practitioner-led Panchakarma and Ayurvedic wellness retreats at the base of Boulder Mountain — in one of the most secluded, beautiful places on earth.

The Science of Life

Ayurveda is the art of living in step with nature.

Ayurveda — often translated as "the science of life" — is one of the world's oldest continuously practiced systems of natural health. It observes something simple and profound: nature moves in rhythms, and we are nature. Day turns to night, seasons follow seasons, and the body has its own tides of digestion, energy, and rest.

Rather than one diet or one routine for everyone, Ayurveda reads your individual constitution — the elements and qualities, the doshas and gunas, that make you who you are — and works with food, daily rhythm, herbs, and hands-on therapies to bring you back into balance.

Nature moves in rhythm — day into night, season into season. Healing begins when we remember that we are nature, and live in step with her.

The Setting

The Juniper House, Boulder, Utah

Retreats take place at the Juniper House, a quiet home built largely from recycled and repurposed materials at the base of Boulder Mountain, on the edge of Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument. You'll hear the creek, the wind in the leaves, and birdsong — and very little else.

Indoor and outdoor bathtubs and showers, a full kitchen, a fireplace, and dark night skies. Seclusion without isolation: town, trailheads, and two of Utah's most loved kitchens are minutes away.

Your Practitioner

Britney Peterson

Britney came to Ayurveda the way many people do — as a mother looking for real answers, tired of watching symptoms get managed instead of health getting restored. What she found became a life's work: the understanding that no single diet or routine works for everyone, and that each of us can learn to care for our own health in our own way.

A Montessori educator for 26 years, she brings a teacher's heart to everything at Om Maitri. Clients don't just receive treatments — they leave with the foundational principles of Ayurveda, so wellness continues long after the retreat ends.
